We have now drilled our three sites, all in Market Weighton thanks to Robert, Charles and Edward Rook for the use of their land.

The Barley site was drilled on the 1st October and consists of a range of varities looking at their natural defences against disease and how various input methods help to create a healthy plant which can fight off disease before it sets in.

The First Wheat site was drilled on 8th October.  This contains a 40 variety trial and also work in conjunction with Bradshaws and their milling wheat varieties and Adas and their Bio physiology varieties.  Once again we will put our input strategies over these and look at the importance of nutrition and its contribution to plant health and defence against disease.  We also have a plot focusing on Yellow rust in order to moniter conjusive conditions that encourage the disease.

Our 2nd Wheat site was drilled 20th October, this is a variety trial for Nickersons/ Advanta with our spray program, inputs and timings.
